Small Handmade Surprises
Gift-giving is never just about giving something.
Sometimes it’s about sharing a memory, sometimes expressing a feeling, and sometimes simply wanting to see a small smile on someone’s face.
When you give a gift, words often aren’t even necessary. Because in that moment, the little thing you chose already says most of what you wanted to express. Maybe it says, “I was thinking of you.” Maybe, “I’m so glad you’re in my life.” Or simply, “This felt so you—I saw it and it reminded me of you.”
Handmade gifts have always held a special place for me. Because they carry time, patience, and care within them. When you give someone something made by hand, you’re offering a piece of your effort—maybe even a small piece of your heart. That’s why handmade gifts have always felt more “real” to me. Each one is unique, just like the person you’re giving it to.
Sometimes it’s an oil burner, sometimes a mug, sometimes a small candle…
Things that seem simple at first glance often carry deep meaning. They remind someone of you during a coffee break, bring peace to a quiet evening, or simply make them smile when their eyes meet it in a corner of the room.
I don’t think gift-giving should only happen on special occasions.
Sometimes it’s a way to tell a friend, “I’m grateful for you.”
Sometimes it’s a way to let your mother feel, “You deserve to rest.”
And sometimes, it’s about telling yourself, “I deserve this.”
Yes, buying a gift for yourself is also a form of gift-giving. Just as meaningful—if not more.
To me, gift-giving feels like a quiet path from one heart to another.
What you give becomes more than an object.
It becomes a feeling, a memory, a connection.
And if that gift is handmade—then it carries a little piece of you within it. 🤍
