Our Story

The name Yel symbolizes a new formation born from the combination of the founders' names, Yalçın and Elif. It represents the strong bond between them and the journey they have embarked on together.

Our Mission

Founders’ Note

At Yel Studios, we value the pursuit of meaning and originality in every design by bringing together creative thinking, craftsmanship, and sustainability. Each piece we produce is not simply an object, but part of a culture shaped by originality and creativity. We envision a platform that inspires the union of creative thinking, sustainability, and craftsmanship to form a lasting cultural foundation.

In today’s design world, we bring our ideas to life with modern, minimal, and refined lines, shaping every detail with great care, quality, and precision. Our handmade pieces offer not only aesthetics and functionality but also reflect a thoughtful design process.

Each of our creations is formed through a conscious and sensitive approach to both traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design practices. At Yel Studios, we aim to offer not only high-quality products but also original and lasting values that form the foundation of our brand.

Elif & Yalçın

Elif AYBÜKE TURGUT

She graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Interior Architecture with honors in 2018. She also studied at the Ceramics and Glass Arts Undergraduate Department for one year. Immediately after completing her interior architecture education, she worked at architecture firms in New York, where she lived for a long time.

Her passion for the material led him to become interested in ceramics. Her goals include creating products that reduce waste and are produced under the philosophy of sustainability. She started master at Bilgi University to further her expertise in biomaterial design.Recently, She has shifted my focus to local, bio-based, waste-based material exploration and research. She aims to incorporate regenerative practices, natural building techniques, and the principles of the circular economy into her design practice.

'' Her biggest motivation is not to leave a carbon footprint in production, but to leave a good mark on the world.''

YALÇIN YEŞİLTEPE

He completed his undergraduate education at Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Ceramics and Glass, in 2020, in addition to completing a minor program in Interior Architecture. His studies within the Bauhaus tradition and his practical applications involving craftsmen and technology have influenced his design approach.

In addition to his product designs, his limited edition works focus on creating multiple narratives through ceramic materials, and expanding the boundaries of the material through space, form, texture, and depth. Sometimes consciously, sometimes with an experimental attitude, the contrasts he applies complement each other within the series, while at other times they are expressed through independent, minimalist pieces.
